Lenovo K6 Power vs Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime & Redmi Note 3: No bad choice here

Suddenly the sub-Rs 10,000 market is looking a little bit crowded. Until a few weeks ago, there were no good options, particularly because the two good Redmi phones -- the Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi 3S Prime -- were rarely in stock. Now both of them are usually in stock. Today they are joined by the Lenovo K6 Power, a phone seemingly created to beat the Redmi 3S prime by Xiaomi's arch-rival. The K6 Power goes on sale today. And that obviously creates some confusion for consumers. The questions, as usual is, which one you should buy between the Redmi 3S Prime, the Lenovo K6 Power and the Redmi Note 3? Well, here is an answer (in as simple words as possible).

Buy Redmi Note 3 if you can spend Rs 12,000

At a price of Rs 11,999, the Xiaomi redmi Note 3 is clearly a better phone. Not only it has a large 5.5-inch screen, but also has a screen that is better in terms of showing colours and brightness. The Redmi Note 3 screen also has higher resolution. But the best bit about the Redmi Note 3 is its processor. The Snapdragon 650 is in a different league and is more future proof compared to the Snapdragon 430 in the Lenovo K6 Power and the Redmi 3S Prime.
Overall, the Redmi Note 3 is a phone that is in different class. It is built better, has a camera that is relatively more consistent and offers experience that is slightly more polished than what you get with the other two phones. In fact, if internal storage is not an issue -- although this is an issue in today's WhatsApp world -- you can even get the 16GB version of the Redmi Note 3, which sells for Rs 9,999.

The Redmi 3S Prime is best value

The Redmi 3S Prime is as good as the K6 Power and just marginally behind the Redmi Note 3 and yet it sells for Rs 8,999. At this price, it is a fantastic phone, although its processor -- Snapdragon 430 -- is not as future proof as the Snapdragon 650. Also, its screen is not as nice as what you get with the Redmi Note 3. But just like the other two phones in this list this is a fast phone. In fact, I feel it has marginally better screens and a more consistent camera compared to the K6 Power. It is also slimmer than the K6 Power.

Get K6 Power for fast Android experience

There are only two reasons why I will recommend the K6 Power over the two of its closest competitors: One, the Redmis are not in the stock. And two, you don't like MIUI, which is perfectly reasonable. Although the K6 Power uses a customised version of Android Marshmallow, it is still closer to the stock Android than the MIUI will ever be. So if you want a more familiar Android experience, go for the K6 Power. It also helps that the software is well-optimised on the K6 Power and it is a fast phone with smooth interface. Overall that is. The fact that its camera is capable of occasional brilliance and that its battery lasts really long are just icing on the cake. Although compared to the Redmi 3S Prime, the K6 Power does cost more, with a price tag of Rs 9,999.

To sum it up

Personally, I like the two Redmis here but if you for some reason don't or find something in the K6 Power that catches your fancy, go ahead for the Lenovo. Among these three phones here, there is no bad phone. All three are pretty good although I would have liked to see a brighter screen on the K6 Power, which would have made it a more sweeter deal.
